With determination and simplicity, the Martincigh family, owner of the Grappolo d’oro farm, has been running their company in the heart of the Colli Orientali del Friuli for over 45 years. The owned vineyards extend over the Colli di Spessa, one of the “districts” among the most suited to the cultivation of vines in the entire D.O.C. “Friuli Colli Orientali”. The company’s vineyards, 60% of which are located in a hilly position on terraces, enjoy an ideal south-southwest exposure. The presence of the Julian Alps to the north determines a natural protection from cold winds, while the frequent presence of winds from the east and the proximity to the sea allow you to take advantage of a mild and breezy climate suitable for optimal ripening of the grapes with a considerable accumulation of aromas on the grape skin. In the company, surrounded by the welcome of the Martincigh family, you can taste both traditional wines (Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Verduzzo Friulano, Refosco dal peduncolo rosso and the famous Picolit DOCG) and those introduced in recent centuries in Friuli and in this territory are expressed at the highest quality levels (Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Traminer Aromatico, Merlot, Cabernet Franc). The style of the wines fully reflects the territory and the soul of the people who live there like the Martincighs: fresh, fruity, easy to drink, with balance, roundness and a discreet minerality thanks to the contribution of calcareous soils. The environment, the landscape and the climate are integrated with the culture and history of this family and this company, offering the visitor and the taster an authentic expression of a territory dedicated to genuine food and wine with an ancient tradition.
